De werkgroep adviseert de aanbevelingen te volgen uit de DHHS Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in Hiv-Infected Adults and Adolescents.

Een enkele opmerking:

Wat betreft profylaxe:

  • M.avium complex profylaxe wordt in Nederland niet geadviseerd.
  • PCP/PJP profylaxe: in Nederland wordt voornamelijk cotrimoxazol in de dosering 1 dd 480 mg gebruikt, zowel als primaire als secundaire profylaxe.
  • In het nationale antibioticaboekje zijn doseringen te vinden.


Wat betreft de behandeling:

  • Voor bacteriële luchtweg-, urineweg- en darminfecties moet naar de Nederlandse SWAB richtlijnen verwezen worden, i.v.m. afwijkende resistentie van bacteriële pathogenen elders.
  • Voor behandeling van tuberculose bij hiv wordt verwezen naar Hoofdstuk 11.


Beleid t.a.v. vaccinaties is opgenomen in hoofdstuk 17.
